First, it will start with the purpose of creating a bibliography of Saito Kihaku, one of the most distinguished Japanese educators in the second half of the 20^<th> century. Second, a bibliography compiled by the author will follow. Third, ten basic books by Saito are introduced. Fourth, short comments on Saito are expressed by four graduate students, who had never previously heard of him. Saito Kihaku(l9ll〜8l) became principal of Shima Primary School at a rural village in Gunma Prefecture in 1952 and worked there for eleven years. During this period, he drastically improved the teachers' mind and skills and the students' motivation to study and scholastic achievement. As a result, Saito and his school became so famous that more than ten thousand visitors of various occupations besides teachers visited his school from all over the country. Accordingly, he became a prominent educator and wrote a lot of books and attracted many supporters. However, twenty seven years after his death, most young teachers and students do not know the legacy of Saito.
